I also co-founded QSA, a queer solidarity group for students, teachers, and allies to connect, receive support and education, and engage the school community in inclusive and affirming practices and principles. I served as a Restorative Practices facilitator and team lead, providing training and co-facilitation to staff members and additional support within electives to counseling services. I was also nominated as Erwin Middle School’s 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year in my fourth year of service to the school and my tenth year as a music educator within North Carolina Public Schools.
