Maryville CollegeOffice and Music Coordinator to Rev. Dr. Anne D. McKee
Jun. 2013 - Jan. 2014Maryville, TennesseeAnne McKee is the Campus Minister, which means the Minister to the whole campus—students, faculty, & staff. She also serves as director of the Bonner Scholars, Bradford Scholars, Church and College Scholars, Chapel Scholars, & Isaac Anderson Fellows. She is a minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). She leads worship weekly, helps students listen to God's voice in their lives, & participates in campus discussions on important topics. Her favorite things to do are to talk with students, pray in public, & hang out with her family. The Samuel Tyndale Wilson Center for Campus Ministry provides the home base for the Spiritual Life & Community Engagement programs at the college. Stop by the CCM & you’ll be likely to find a listening ear, a challenging program, or a group of students planning a service trip. Bonner, Bradford, Church & College, Isaac Anderson, & Chapel Scholar programs are all based in the CCM. CCM also serves as host to many student religious groups, & many students find the space to be an inviting & quiet place to study. Feel free to stop by any time! CCM holds a chapel service each week on Tuesdays from 1:15-1:50. No classes are held during this protected time, so everyone is invited to gather together in a time of worship. Services are planned by a student lead worship committee. Services are not held on campus on Sunday mornings; instead students are encouraged to attend church at a local congregation. The CCM’s chapel theme for the 2013-2014 academic year is “Faith Works.” In keeping with the college’s emphasis on the connection between work & the liberal arts, CCM hopes to spend the year reflecting on the many connections between faith, spirituality, & the work people do in the world, for pay, as volunteers, or as members of families & communities. Students, staff, faculty, & administrators will all serve as chapel speakers.
