The Office of the Chief Technology Officer, Government of the District of ColumbiaIntern/Entry Level Technician
Jun. 2009 - Jan. 2016Washington, District Of ColumbiaAs a Intern, I was able to receive hands on experience in the IT field. I was apart of the Network implementation team where I was able to physically install and configure troubleshoot basic management configurations on Cisco routers and switches using Cisco CLI. I gained knowledge on VoIP, Wireless, Routers, and Switches. Worked hand in hand with Project managers assisting them with the Phase 1 and Full Modernization projects mainly focusing District of Columbia Public Schools projects. When shadowing PMs I was able to gain knowledge and utilize skills on how to create tasks, assign, and complete tasks to make sure a project was always completed on time. I was able to train and study for CCNA. Which gave me the opportunity to work Network Engineers on smaller tasks that needed to be done out in the field or in the office. After a 2 years I was given the role of supervising SYEP interns that came throughout the varies summers between 2011 - 2015.
