Aug. 2005 - Feb. 2016Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Puerto RicoResponsible for performing and leading structural and thermal analysis projects for both industrial gas turbine and aerospace engine programs. Typical responsibilities included developing, implementing, and conducting FEA Structural analysis of static and rotating hardware using the ANSYS FEA code. Duties also included interfacing with the customer, ensuring that the project’s budget and schedule constraints were met, resource allocation/leveling, and presenting results at customer design reviews. In his most recent assignment, he was responsible for managing a global multi-site international (Florida, Puerto Rico, Germany, England) team of engineers in support of the structural FEA analysis for the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB Fan Case system static structures.
Structures Analyst
Florida Turbine TechnologiesStructures Analyst
Jun. 2002 - Jul. 2005Jupiter, FloridaConducted static and transient analyses (structural and thermal) of gas turbine combustor, compressor, hot section, and vane actuation mechanism components using the ANSYS code as well as theoretical methods. Experience in modal analyses, forced response analyses, LCF life predictions, Campbell diagrams, cold-build clearance calculations, kinematic and kineto-static analysis, 2D “carcass” modeling, nonlinear contact analyses, transient “mission” analysis. Other responsibilities included task automation using ANSYS APDL macro language and TCL/TK.
Design Engineer (Contract Position)
General Dynamics Land SystemsDesign Engineer (Contract Position)
Sep. 2001 - Jun. 2002Woodbridge, VirginiaDesign Engineer for the Hydrodynamics Systems and Appendages IPT. I was responsible for the design and analysis of the Chine Flap System for SSDR. (Contract position)

Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA)Mechanical Engineer
Jan. 1997 - Sep. 2001Dahlgren, Virginia Team Lead, WOX Shock Test Machine Redesign Succeeded in convincing US Navy and Raytheon top brass to re-design a legacy shock test machine. Mr. Negron worked with Senior Engineers and led a technical development effort resulting in 1+ million FY02 funding for the re-design of the WOX-7B near-miss shock test machine. Structures Analyst, SM-3 Structural and Thermal Analysis Lead structural and thermal analysis efforts in support of the US NAVY Standard Missile 3 (SM3) Theater Ballistic Missile Defense project. Responsibilities included building FEA models of the missile nosecone, kill vehicle (KW), and SDACS (Solid-Divert Attitude Control System). Models were used for transient thermos-structural assessments of missile launch and re-entry. Budgeted, planned, and conducted all tasks across multiple organizations and personnel. Mechanical Designer and Analyst Designed and modeled mechanical systems using Pro/Engineer. Performed complex linear elastic as well as nonlinear modeling and simulation using the ANSYS FEA code of vertical lunching system (VLS) and other ship-borne structures. Generated complex structured grid for CFD analysis. Developed computer programs in FORTRAN and C++ to simulate missile nosecone ejection and VLS plenum deluge events.
