Since 1979, AFCB has provided food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, child care centers, night shelters and senior centers. We currently serve more than 600 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia. The Hunger Action Center helps to organize recently donated food and personal care products for distribution to over 700 local partner agencies.

These included, but not limited to social entreprenuerial trainings including one-on-one consultations organized in collaboration with partner organizations and local entrepreneurs. Coordination with LED officer to facilitate youth development initiatives. Project concept design around the city municipal strategic plan. Co-coordinate community projects, advised entrepreneurs and SMEs, assist with trainings, entrepreneurial development, marketing and event concepts. Expand local street market engagement including engaging on-air local radio dialogues on community and cultural engagements. Profiling and marketing of economic sector opportunities. Initiate and promote projects with private and state partners. Participate and assist with local exhibitions, public-private dialogues, and economic development seminars. Work with local youth centre on life skills & character developing concepts with museum curator. Work with youth centre to assist with the //Karas youth entrepreneurship development program HIV prevention & linkages to health services. Member of the Intercultural, Competence, Diversity & Inclusion Working Group to raise awareness and support for ways in which identity may affect the experience of volunteers, staff, and fellow Namibians through dialogue, training, modeling, and resource sharing. Member of the Peace Corps Namibia Media Committee co-producing in-country content highlighting societal and cultural stories centering Namibians. *Returned to the United States in March 2020 after unprecedented Peace Corps’ evacuations due to Covid-19 following an 11-month role as a community economic development volunteer in the southern African nation of Namibia.
