Nov. 2017 - Sep. 2021redmond, waFocused on securing supply chain to build in-market Windows 10 OS. Proposed and led method to adopt common telemetry platform and schema for microservices within engineering system (1DS / IFX / Open Tracing), providing all teams with common schema for telemetry and tracing events. Delivered monitoring and alerting metrics for new services and solutions and assured live site issues were minimized.
• Created and documented designated responsible individual (on-call) models, utilizing SQL data lakes, supporting new services, conducting data mining and trending, informing decisions, and forecasting.
• Planned and enacted implementation of production access for troubleshooting / diagnostics / management within Windows 10 secure build environment, creating method for engineers to troubleshoot via read access, removing write access from engineers, eliminating common attack vector, and establishing trust in company.
• Rolled out Secure Admin Workstation (SAW) to 300+ developers within Windows Engineering System, enhancing security and presenting 2-factor authentication for developers touching production systems.
• Coordinated cross-company effort to transition Windows 7 build, packaging, signing, and modernizing high-security environment.
o Reduced domestic and international supply chain attack vectors, replacing legacy unsupported services with current supported systems.
