University of WyomingSystems and Network Engineer, Developer
Jan. 1997 - Dec. 1998While pursuing my graduate studies in Geophysics and Computer Science at the University of Wyoming, I took on several delightfully distracting projects. I was responsible for the complete technical design, purchase, and setup of Microsoft PC, Silicon Graphics, and Apple student labs, professor offices, and networking infrastructure for a new science building. I also designed and developed an online classroom system for the Geology Sciences program, enabling online access to course outlines, assignments, quizzes, grades, and notes. Additionally, I created the Aleutian Arc Data System (AADS), a geospatial data sharing platform that allowed researchers to upload and share photos, maps, geochemical data, and images of thin sections, all with latitude and longitudinal data, facilitating collaboration among geochemists versus the slow process of sharing a few percent of the very expensive NSF-funded data through print publications.
