Specifically, my study examines the role of perspective-taking in facilitating high-performing teams and in shaping best practices in personnel and managerial development. Perspective-taking, defined as the ability to put oneself in others’ shoes, has been shown in prior work to be one of the critical factors in the development of high-performing teams and superior firm performance. The outcome of this research is expected to help organizations understand the role of leadership training and perspective-taking in the integration of data analytics and people leadership in the future world of work. Research Objectives * Identify “perspective-taking” creation in project managers * Explore the role of perspective-taking within leaders in shaping how they manage risks, promote team formation processes and facilitate organizational learning * Develop a theoretical framework that explains the role of perspective-taking strategies within the organizational context. Sep. 2007 - Apr. 2008Toronto, ON- As a research analyst, I assisted in conducting an integrative psychology and primary business research study by Dr Scott Veenvliet (Fanshawe College) and Dr Jan Alpenberg (Tyndale University College). The research study examined how individual differences in religious beliefs influenced business and financial decision-making. - Responsible for reporting to the principal investigators for participant recruitment and focus group development. Data management included recruiting potential candidates via email, telephone, etc. Under direct supervision from the investigators, I was able to work and meet multiple deadlines. - Primary responsibilities included: (1) Creation and maintenance of research related database through Microsoft Excel, Access and Surveymonkey, (2) Development of project reports for investigators to monitor work progress, (3) Data collection management, (4) Analysis of group data through SPSS, and (5) manage research articles for literature review.
