I am offering over 25 years of IT experience and dedication. I was employed as Manager: Information Technology at the Northern Cape Provincial Legislature in Kimberley from 1996 to 2023. I was appointed as team leader to start the process of designing and implementing the computer network and technical communications infrastructure of the Legislature. When we relocated to a new building I was tasked with the responsibility of managing the project of the Information Technology and Technical Communications Infrastructure worth R36 million. I can proudly look back at a multi-server computer and tele-communications network with fibre-optic backbone, linking to 240 workstations via cat5 UTP cabling and wireless networking. The software used as Network Operating System was various versions of Novell, Windows, with MSO-365 as application software on the workstations. A project for a state-of-the-art video conferencing centre was completed for the debating chamber. As Project Manager systems implemented included SAGE X3 and SAGE 300 PEOPLE (hybrid hosting local & cloud), Core Document Tracking and Conference Management Systems. I served as Chairperson and Secretary of the ISM Forum for 10 years, which included 9 Legislatures and Parliament. My duties include IT Policy AND Strategy Development and Review, IT Governance (COBiT), IT Risk Management, IT Service Desk (ITiL)and Operations Management (In Office and Remote), Strategic Management and Planning, and representing the interests of the organisation at Provincial and National level. Since the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2019, I have setup and managed remote work from home access to 4 different sites. Using MSO-365 with MS-Teams I managed the operations of the Legislature business virtually, which included House Sittings, Management & Exco Meetings, Committee & Portfolio Meetings, Openings of Legislatures & Parliament, Public Hearings, International Conferences as well as remote technical support services to employees, Members of the Legislature and regional offices.
