Jan. 2018Consulting was part of my five-year plan that started five years early. That's why I call myself an accidental freelancer. Now, over five years in, I can confidently say I found my purpose. Though if I'm being honest, I kind of always knew I'd end up somewhere creative; I used to sit in my bedroom on weekends and write poetry about rainstorms when I was 10. Yes, I'd still like to publish a collection of poetry someday. As a Creative Strategist, I work primarily with agile (sometimes just an owner and a gaggle of contractors) boutique marketing agencies that put people first. Together, we're here to serve. It's becoming increasingly difficult to stand out as an agency, and what I bring to my collaborations is a deep understanding of people (I'm an audience researcher who specializes in brand voice and messaging) and a strategic mindset. My work encompasses everything content touches, and that includes conducting client interviews, diving deep into third-party industry research, crafting authentic brand strategies, developing high-impact content strategies, and writing content assets that engage the actual people behind the screens.
