Michael Phillips, M.B.A., is a seasoned healthcare executive and entrepreneur with a career spanning over two decades. As the current CEO of Brim Wellness, he has been instrumental in founding and leading the innovative company that quickly secured contracts with 15 independent pharmacies and successfully launched the program for building a national network of wellness clinics. His strategic leadership also facilitated Brim Wellness in contracting with Medicare, and multiple private insurance payers, positioning the company for rapid national expansion. Before Brim Wellness, Phillips founded MLML LLC, a healthcare consulting firm, where he consulted for ITSJ-Group, leading to the creation of its healthcare technology division and securing significant contracts with major corporations like Apple and Google. His efforts contributed to a 550% revenue increase for the company. Phillips’ extensive experience includes co-founding Galichia Health System, where he served in various leadership roles, including CEO of both Galichia Medical Group and Galichia Hospital Group. Under his leadership, Galichia Medical Group saw a significant increase in cash flow, and he was praised for his role in negotiating the sale of Galichia Heart Hospital to the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). In addition to his healthcare achievements, Phillips has held financial roles, including Chief Financial Officer of Athletes for Life Foundation and Partner & Senior Analyst at Zeff Capital. His early career included roles such as Budget Officer for the City of Aspen and healthcare consulting positions. Phillips holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Florida Atlantic University, where he graduated with high honors, and a Bachelor’s degree in English from Drake University. Nov. 2013 - Mar. 2023Louisville, Kentucky AreaCEO at Linden Healthcare Partners • Co-founded national hospital management & development company to direct higher quality operations, development, and financing of multiple existing and newly planned hospitals. Implemented compliant investment structures to ensure strategic alignment between physicians, hospitals, and communities. • Led due diligence on all hospital projects, in charge of hiring hospital CEO’s and key staff members with a keen sense of personnel placement based on experience, personality, and “fit.” • Collaborated with government officials and business groups to earn community support raising capital for operations and construction, and mitigated competitive threats to nearby hospitals by designing affiliation agreements which aligned health missions amongst competing entities. • Negotiated and secured contract for Hospital Division to manage hospital for publically traded company. • Served as the CEO of Kentuckiana Medical Center, a general acute care hospital. -Led the hospital out of bankruptcy by rebranding, retooling service, adding multiple new service lines, and aligning quality and service goals with independent physicians. Hospital additions I implemented: -A 24/7 ER -Toxicology lab -Orthopedic Surgery - Urology - Interventional Pain Surgery - Expanded the number of inpatient beds by over 35%. All these changes significantly increased hospital’s cash flow, and patients’ access to care. After I took over as CEO and implemented changes, the hospital was named, “The #1 hospital in the Louisville metro area for patient safety by Consumer Reports.”

Apr. 2009 - Nov. 2013Managing the day to day operations of a large multi-specialty medical clinic with over 220 employees, and 24 outreach clinics through out the state; principally specializing in cardiology, internal medicine, endocrinology, and orthopedics. Responsible for all departments including; scheduling, coding, billing, medical records, information technology, human resources, and accounting. Also responsible for all financial related transactions of the group including the revenue cycle, cash flow, negotiation of payer contracts, physician recruitment, and employment agreements. During my first 3 months with the group I made structural changes that increased the bottom line by over $250 thousand a month.

Athletes For Life FoundationChief Financial Officer

Jan. 2007 - Dec. 2009• Obtained 501c3 status for the foundation by inspiring volunteer services from an accountant and attorney with the vision of giving free cardiac screenings to the public to provide early detection of heart disease to unknowing patients. • Established a Medical Advisory Board to create policies and procedures for clinical staff management who were initially volunteers but later hired to conduct and interpret cardiac stress tests. • Initiated successful fundraisers and special events with large corporations (including Coca Cola and Ford Motors) and celebrities (Willie Gault of Chicago Bears) which increased awareness and volunteer base and generated significant donor income from businesses and individuals. Events included educational seminars and mobile cardiac screenings which were credited for detecting important health issues and expanding the local foundation awareness base to a national level. • Intiated multiple events in partnership with the National Institute of Health to raise awareness.

Jan. 2003 - Dec. 2005Developed and managed the city's operating and capital budget of over $150 million Presented to the Mayor, City Council, and the public on a regular basis. Negotiated the replacement of the Police department's entire fleet. Presented and successfully gained approval for the city's water reclamation project. Sat on the Board of the Burlingame employee housing project. Created a monthly city-wide budget report that tracked all revenues and expenses for the City. Calculated the annual mill levy in accordance with the TABOR amendment. Trained all city department heads in budget management.
