Jun. 2008 - Sep. 2014London, United Kingdom▶️ LEADERSHIP: I was hired as the COO of an initial team from Calyon to setup from scratch a new Asian-focussed cross-asset structured products & equity finance business, creating a new platform to then revamp the existing Tokyo business. ▶️ KEY HIGHLIGHTS: ✅ Co-created the initial strategy and got it approved at Tokyo Board level before then driving the hiring of the trading, sales, quant & technology resources needed, growing from the team from 3 to 50 people within 7 months. ✅ Established a strategic partnership with Murex for a new front-to-back strategic IT platform including delivering a hosted 2000+ core calculation grid in an innovative IaaS mode with Excelian & KDDI. ✅ Drove the migration onto the platform of a substantial Tokyo exotic/hybrid & vanilla Rates/FX/Equity Derivatives portfolio, then expanded the systems & teams to accommodate new products traded from London & Hong Kong, building out the sales & trading tools needed & the infrastructure required to support a Retail Structured Products electronic trading business. ✅ Led the IT stream globally on the due diligence & then post-purchase integration of Daiwa's acquisition of KBC Financial Products' Convertibles & Equity Derivatives businesses. ✅ Led the divestment of the Equity Finance business to Scotia Bank & migrated the open derivatives positions from London to Tokyo, before finally completing the consolidation back into Tokyo from London & Hong Kong of the associated middle and back office functions.
