With over three decades of extensive professional experience, he is a Subject Matter Expert in Reliability Engineering. His expertise lies in providing technical and strategic insights into asset management, product development, manufacturing, reliability engineering, and equipment improvement, with applications across various sectors such as aerospace, semiconductor, automotive, and energy. Currently, he consults across multiple industries through his business, Business Engineering (businessengrg.com), and is establishing a non-profit, Hybrid Design (hybrid-design.org), to promote these approaches within high schools and universities. A graduate of Arizona State University, he holds an MS in Industrial Engineering and a BA in Social Work/Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. During his 13-year tenure at Intel, he had a significant impact on the semiconductor manufacturing sector, establishing industry benchmarks, and addressing critical manufacturing challenges. He has mentored and trained hundreds of engineers, providing them with a unique and practical approach to equipment reliability and maintainability. This included coaching several equipment suppliers such as SVG, ASM, Lam Research, K&S, Applied Materials, and many others. At Honeywell Aerospace, he played a pivotal role in integrating the principles of TRIZ (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving) into their product development teams. He collaborated with other groups to shift the focus from simply identifying reliability issues to formulating cost-effective, elegant solutions that met all criteria. In the academic sphere, he was an Adjunct Professor in Technological Entrepreneurship at Arizona State University and taught short courses at several other universities. Furthermore, he is certified in Sigma/Lean and became a Certified Reliability Engineer. His advanced training in TRIZ, implementations, and co-authoring “TRIZ Power Tools”, is a testament to his deep commitment and passion for this field.
