May. 2005 - Aug. 2009Hired to start-up and develop all aspects of the Operation of a USDA inspected facility, after a successful start up led the expansion and opening of a 340,000 square foot USDA facility which increased annual sales from $170 million per year to over $250 million. Managed the development of SOP, training, personnel hiring, and cost structure across both USDA facilities. Responsible for the budget and financial results of entire facility, in addition to evaluating capital projects such as automation of packaging lines, equipment improvements and customer driven projects. Ensured appropriate internal controls were in place to maintain regulatory and customer requirements as well as develop appropriate training programs to assure key personnel were competent in required skill. Developed alternative work schedules to reduce cost and brought key learning to expand knowledge base and diversify our product mix with new and current customers. Results:
Develop flexible work teams that increased our sales by $4 million annually by reducing OT charges to customers and improving profit margins.
Led cross-functional team that analyzed entire operations, developed and executed aggressive cost saving initiatives that included inventory turns, supply chain initiatives, productivity improvements and reduction of waste estimated savings of $2 million dollars to customer and $1million to PEC.
Recommended the re-designed of packaging cartons that increase our sales by $500,000 and improved our efficiency by over 40%.
Led in the certification of GFSI practices through SQF level 3.
