Senior UX/ UI Designer
Exo Digital | UX Design + InnovationSenior UX/ UI Designer
Aug. 2022 - May. 2023Melbourne, Victoria, AustraliaWorking as a UX & UI Designer at Exo Digital on a contract basis for 10 months was an enriching experience. I worked during this time on the Occupational English Test (OET) project. OET, renowned for assessing English language proficiency in healthcare contexts, presented a significant educational challenge due to its specialised user base and critical impact on career advancement for healthcare professionals globally. My involvement spanned every stage of the product design process, from initial ideation to final implementation. Collaborating closely with a core team of three designers and augmented by developers, we undertook the ambitious task of redesigning three pivotal user journeys: booking, purchasing, and learning. Each journey was meticulously crafted to enhance user experience, incorporating intuitive navigation, accessibility features, and seamless interactions tailored to the unique needs of OET's audience. Furthermore, I worked on the brand refresh initiative, ensuring visual consistency and a modern aesthetic across all touch points. This involved conducting extensive user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, and conducting usability tests to validate design decisions. Iteratively refining based on user feedback and stakeholder input was crucial to delivering a user-centric solution that not only met but exceeded client expectations. The educational nature of the OET project added a layer of significance to my role. By improving usability and accessibility, we directly contributed to enhancing the learning experience for healthcare professionals pursuing language certification. This project underscored the profound impact of thoughtful UX design in educational contexts, emphasising the importance of user empathy and iterative improvement in creating meaningful digital experiences.
