-- Research on capital account liberalization, current account deficits, banking system vulnerability, the crises in South East Asia in the 1990s; -- Led missions to Sudan and Cape Verde on capital account liberalization, foreign currency market operations, bank restructuring.
-- Negotiated with top officials in central banks and Ministries of Finance the reform of currency exchange regulations. b) 1994 – 1997 Economist in the European Department, Southeastern II Division Main duties:
-- Participated in several IMF missions to review with senior policy makers in the government and the central bank the main planks of the member countries’ economic policy. -- Took part in the negotiation with the Turkish government on the IMF stand-by loan
-- Participated in the annual missions to discuss with senior policy makers in Madrid and Brussels the major issues regarding European integration and the monetary union. c) 1993 – 1994 Economist in the European Department, Southern II Division --Desk Officer for Croatia; took part in three missions to negotiate with the Croatian authorities the IMF stand-by loan, including the reforms of the banking system and the pension system. --Member of the team negotiating the conditions for the IMF stand-by loan agreement with Romania. d) 1992- 1993 Economist in the Research Department, Economic Modeling and External Adjustment Division. --Research on monetary issues and banking in emerging markets -- Forecast on the world economy using MULTIMOD --Design of the IMF database on real effective exchange rates
