Jun. 2009 - Oct. 2009My responsibilities grew to include being in charge of my teams projects. This is more up my alley after running a company for over 20 years. I really enjoyed the challenge and also the interaction with not only my team but others as well. We did the first ever geographic email testing, template testing, A/B testing of email creative's, analysis of the data from these tests which showed us what the consumer responded to best. I also rewrote all copy in an existing database used in “hot spots” on email campaigns to make them spam compliant. I have learned a little about Base Camp, Rally and Best Practical's RT Enterprise-Grade Issue Tracking since taking over this role. I also attended twice a month iteration planning meetings, write out the dimensions for new projects and keep on top of jobs in progress making sure they are completed on time. I also coordinate with sales, both direct and outside, on smaller projects they need. Getting new categories set up, test emails sent, reporting, and making sure all requests that come to my team have a creative brief filled out (that I designed) that includes how the companies bottom line is affected/ the Value proposition of adding a new product or category. Sales was international so I often had requests at odd hours of the night and made sure to respond promptly as to when I could fulfill that request. Troubleshooting problems with our software is another task I performed directly with the tech-ops teams in 2 different channels. I have been told "if it's broke - you'll find it." And it's true! Job experience with Adknowledge: keeping up to date on CanSpam regulations, copywriting, Template and email design, organization of all A/B testing, Behavioral targeting, Geo and demo targeting tests, inbox delivery, design and coding of emails, working with directors in Email, Affiliate, and Sales to coordinate new jobs, project management.

Nov. 2008 - Oct. 2009I started with AdKnowledge as a contractor, in August of this year, creating email creatives as well as doing cutups in Photoshop and HTML in Dreamweaver to get the creatives ready to load into the system. In November I went full time. It was my responsibility to get them loaded and then do quality control to make sure they are working and being delivered correctly. Soon after they were used by our email channel. Another one of my responsibilities was fixing broken code in older creatives. I worked on a new project in Category Selection/Personalization. My job was to plan and implement geo and demo data and increase email opens and clicks by sending more targeted campaigns to our users. I defined groups, using behavioral targeting data, to get a better understanding of what interests people from a demo perspective as well as trying to figure out where they are purchasing from. Adknowledge's behavioral targeting team was key (and they rock) in getting me this data and we were able to run a geo test shortly after the data and test creatives were out together. The hypothesis was: Does geo plus geo related subject lines affect/increase open rate? Method: A/B test of the same campaigns delivered to the same areas with different subject lines. Results: People responded quite favorably to geo targeted subject lines vs a generic subject line only advertising product or service. I really enjoyed my job and the people I worked with were professional and fun!

Aug. 1998 - Aug. 2002Accesszone Design was a Web site Design and Hosting company started in the mid 90's (under our corporate name originally). I did sales and created the smaller html only sites. I also did some graphic design for customers. Accesszone was owned by Jim Smith Sales, Inc. and was a D/B/A of that corporation. Accesszone Design specialized in data base driven sites, with dynamic content, as far back as 1996. We created one of the first insurance quote systems in the country for a large marine insurance company, several portal sites, but our specialty was giving our customers a site they could keep updated themselves via their web browser. We started to get into online advertising on our portal sites but due to funding issues had to sell. It was not the greatest time to try something new on the internet - new to us that is. We sold the web site development side in 2002. I maintained most of the customers that only needed graphic design and have some to this day.
