We established systems and best practices; I mentored and managed a wonderfully talented team-Our emphasis was on very custom, high end residential design with a very high level of service. My team included designer Caroline Collins, Junior Designer Ayesha Baporia Ismail, and Project design assistants, Lisandra Caro Torres, and Heidi Mullan. It was rewarding to mentor this group and to collaborate with them. They represent the finest support team that I have had the pleasure of working with since Tucker and Marks. I also had the pleasure of reconnecting with Diane Hiland who helped to run operations and project management on our installations. Together we managed two large residential projects, one in Piedmont and one in Tiburon. The Tiburon Project was published in AD. We also managed numerous smaller projects simultaneously. This team has been disbanded as of January 2016

I led one of the two design teams in our studio during my tenure. We managed several large residential projects and boutique hospitality projects simultaneously. It was a rich, rewarding and challenging experience. Our focus was on luxury projects and very detailed and comprehensive design services-soup to nuts. I was fortunate to be able to collaborate with Andrew Skurman Architects on several projects. I also got to focus on several large, Spanish Colonial revival projects in California. We were inspired by the work of George Washington Smith. I participated in three Designer's Showcases-one for Elle Decor. I also had the opportunity to be the Senior Designer to work on redesign and renovations at the Auberge du Soleil-The site of my own nuptials. I continue to have many dear friends and colleagues in my life many who've become extended family. I'm always grateful for those relationships.

I enjoyed designing custom furnishings and curtains for every project. My focus was on Traditional interiors and classical architecture.

My mentor was Douglas Kohler, A.S.I.D. I started as a design assistant and worked my way up to Senior Designer. It is a small and dynamic firm, the oldest one in this midwestern city, operating for more than 60 years-specializing in high end residential design. I was able to mentor junior designers, manage multiple projects at one time, and helped to develop a small retail gallery that was an outgrowth of the firm. This gallery carried antiques and art objets. This was a great place to build a strong foundation in the design industry. Both from the design side and the operations side.
