Aug. 2016I am currently contracted with The UnSchool of Disruptive Design, a social enterprise founded by Dr. Leyla Acaroglu, designer, sociologist, TED presenter, and 2016 UNEP Champion of the Earth. The UnSchool is a global experimental knowledge lab for impact-driven change agents who want to learn how to create positive social and environmental change. We teach systems thinking, sustainability, and design through the Disruptive Design Methodology. Here are some of the things I do: - Collaborate with the Lead Designer/Art Director to develop online courses, toolkits, ebooks, and supplemental curriculum materials for a range of sustainability, applied systems thinking, and circular economy topics for adult learners
- Measure KPIs and collect user feedback to perform trend analysis, inform strategy, and create impactful communications & sales campaigns related to course offerings and commissioned projects
- Write short-form (social media and ads), medium-form (email campaigns), and long-form (articles and blog posts) copy that distills complex ideas into digestible content, often using empathy and storytelling to make connections
- Design marketing campaigns to promote brand events and initiatives - Leverage storytelling for positive change in marketing communications via alumni interviews
- Manage social media accounts for Facebook and LinkedIn - Manage email marketing through automated funnels and intermittent campaigns for sales, product launches, announcements, and blog posts
- Iterate brand strategy based on ongoing trend analysis from various data points, including SEO keywords
- Write and distribute press releases to various media outlets specific to respective campaigns - Edit the CEO's personal projects and articles
- Research current sustainability trends and events to support the development of communications collateral
