Apr. 2014DC, NY, USA; Caracas, Venezuela; San Jose, Costa Rica; Mexico City, MexicoThe foundation works in 4 Latin American countries and USA (Colombia [TBD], Costa Rica, Venezuela, Peru), in the Global North (New York, Washington D.C., London) in order to enhance the lives of people through social and environmental sustainable practices in the built construction of infrastructure, affordable housing, and city systems using a landscape approach and sustainable development methods. We work with the World Bank, IADB and IFC to develop a strategic approach in upgrading vis-a-vis incentivizing credits and local banking the access of materials that are primarily local and native to each locale. Through built retrofitted solutions, UEF promotes a parallel focus on social capital enhancement. The effect is to bridge the gap between design interventions and economic growth as well as development agenda set by and through international bank development aid agendas (anchored in the SDGs17) and funds (IADB, CAF, WBG etc).
