Dyer Design & PhotographyPrincipal / Graphic Designer & Photographer
May. 1989Alexandria, VirginiaFor more than 30 years, I have operated a full-service, home-based graphic design and photography studio working primarily with associations, publishing firms and small businesses. Projects include annual reports, brochures, magazines and newsletters, book covers and interiors, posters, logo design, trade show exhibits and convention collateral. I have extensive publications experience, producing more than 70 books and more than 50 different newsletters and magazines (on a monthly, bimonthly and quarterly basis). My work with the Hearing Loss Magazine garnered several Hermés Creative Awards for design and photography. In addition to design and production of publications, I also provide photography, writing, and content creation services. In fall 2012, I co-founded and launched Celebrate Home Magazine, a quarterly lifestyle magazine. Serving as creative director, I design, produce and provide all the photography for the publication. I provide photographic services to my clients for conventions and meetings, corporate/staff portraits and assignment photography. My portrait work has been featured on covers and interiors for Hearing Loss Magazine, International Municipal Lawyer Magazine, Celebrate Home Magazine, and National Head Start’s Children & Families magazine. My photography has been featured in American Photo Magazine, Shutterbug Magazine, The Washington Post and nikonusa.com, as well as other publications and online sites. In 2011 Nikon profiled my work on their online Learn & Explore series in How to Grow Your Garden Photography Skills. The USPS has licensed my botanical images for stamps: Ferns (2014), Water Lilies (2015), and one image in the 16-pane series commemorating the National Park Service’s 100th anniversary (series unveiled in June 2016 in NYC at the World Stamp Show). I have licensed two other series of botanical images to the USPS; publishing date TBD. My image of an African daisy was the 2022 Global stamp.
