I was hired as a communications director but quickly took on more of an operations manager role when we were in-office, and a production manager role when we were on a shoot. Some of my operations duties included accounts payable and receivable, client communication, invoicing, budget management, onboarding new staff, staff insurance and benefits management, etc. For production, my duties included booking travel and ground transportation for all teams, coordinating locations, set design, managing local crew and production assistants, arranging meals, creating production schedules, and overall management of the production team and process.

In addition to booking the artists and venues, we worked with the record labels to strategize on marketing efforts, we booked local artists and DJs in each city, and we were production managers at the shows across the country.

I kept detailed budgets for each city, invoiced on behalf of the production team and ensured crew invoices were paid.

They have over 150 full-time staff. My role was to streamline how events were planned and carried out. I worked alongside the various departments to ensure they had everything they needed to put on events for the community. Additionally, I was responsible for producing fundraising events as well as community events like music festivals, Black history month events, etc.
