I was hired as a communications director but quickly took on more of an operations manager role when we were in-office, and a production manager role when we were on a shoot. Some of my operations duties included accounts payable and receivable, client communication, invoicing, budget management, onboarding new staff, staff insurance and benefits management, etc. For production, my duties included booking travel and ground transportation for all teams, coordinating locations, set design, managing local crew and production assistants, arranging meals, creating production schedules, and overall management of the production team and process.
