Jan. 2016Columbia, South CarolinaPresently (since 2016), as a member of the Faculty of the Social Advocacy and Ethical Life Initiative of the College of Arts and Sciences, I teach multiple sections, face to face and online, of SAEL 200, which is an interdisciplinary course combining principles of rhetoric (i.e. public speaking), ethics, and political theory in a manner designed to heighten students' social awareness and enable them to engage in advocacy in academic, cultural, economic, political, and social contexts. In teaching this course, I use a textbook I have authored and published via Tophat. I also conduct scholarly research in Old and Middle English literature, Pragmatic Linguistics, and Book History and Textual Studies.
