Aug. 2015 - Jun. 2020Harrisonburg, VA> Consult with the student services team to conduct job analyses and develop individual and team workflows that assist with planning, project coordination, and decision-making processes. > Deliver on-time projects that meet established objectives. > Conduct various events and projects related to graduate student recruiting for 60+ programs, student support and development, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. > Contribute to planning and managing the inaugural 3-Minute Thesis competition event, develop and deliver preparation workshop for graduate student participants, and emcee event.
> Work with a team to plan and produce the annual Graduate Research Symposium while liaising with program directors across the university to provide a scholarly space for emerging researchers and creative scholars to present and showcase their work in a refereed context.
> Write content and provide copy editing on selected projects including marketing materials, articles for publication, presidential newsletter updates, graduation program, and conference/project summaries. > Collaborate with the associate dean to coordinate an international partnership project with a foreign diplomat.
> Co-author successful grant proposal for training graduate program directors and faculty in holistic admissions review processes to increase the selection of qualified applicants with diverse or non-traditional backgrounds whose application materials may not reflect traditional academic experiences. > Interview selected students and craft spotlight stories that highlight their experiences and accomplishments within their respective programs to raise the visibility of graduate education and serve as a recruiting resource.
> Collaborate with faculty colleagues to plan the Career Kickstart half-day event and co-facilitate sessions designed to develop targeted industry knowledge and job seeking skills for early career participants.
