I was internally promoted to the role of Assistant Manager, looking after a team of approx. 15 people. Responsibilities included; - Performing weekly stock take (wet & food) and subsequent purchasing
- Cellar management for a busy tap schedule
- Keeping tabs on craft beer trends, and maintaining good relations with
breweries/suppliers
- Employee timetabling, accounting for holidays/sickness/busy or quiet periods
- Overseeing payroll, calculating holiday, tips and bonus pay
- Leading beer & wine training for staff. I also wrote the beer style guide for the
‘Frontier Pubs’ beer training course
- Regular social media updates/posts, whilst monitoring customer interaction
- Conducting interviews, and probationary period reviews
- Hiring and onboarding new team members
- Acting as General Manager whenever required, including managing shifts at other
Frontier Pubs sites
- Interacting and building rapport with customers, ensuring a professional and friendly
service at all times
