Mar. 2013 - Oct. 2019Johannesburg Area, South AfricaMy current career is made up of leading digital marketing and corporate identity for a large South African investment manager, responsible for marketing managing the website of Ashburton Investments and all other digital marketing, including social media, online advertising, email marketing, and how it integrates with above-the-line print, events, sponsorships and campaigns. In a nutshell, my role entails owning digital brand equity, digital visual language and how consumers associate with our brand online. I was in the privileged position of being closely involved in the launch of the Ashburton Investments brand in South Africa and formed part of the team that brought this new generation investment manager, the investment management arm of the FirstRand Group, to the South African market. While I will always continue to study, my most recent completion is a six-week course on the integration of artificial intelligence into business strategy through the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Feb. 2011 - Feb. 2013GautengI have played a determining role, both from a strategic and operational point of view, in Momentum's corporate identity in the employee benefits arena and in the processes of its national distribution, brand presence and public understanding. My external communication involvement was not a solo role, I was part of a marketing team that were responsible for national marketing and my tasks included all communication extending from letters and presentations to brochures and all forms of electronic communication that partly originates from my initiatives, creativity, knack for design, knack for copywriting and management responsibilities — shared with my team members, the head of marketing and the head of product development. My internal communications involvement included intranet, email correspondence and email marketing, plasma screen slideshows with inter-involvement properties, training all staff through various mediums and channels, social staff activities, incentive programme marketing, company values and philosophies reinforcement, brand and corporate identity reinforcement inside-out, and officer of correct corporate identity application.
