Dec. 2021South AfricaAs a Technical Team Lead/Senior Systems Engineer, I am responsible for the ongoing evaluation, monitoring and mentoring of my team and systems. As a Senior Systems Engineer, I deal with onboarding new clients, from the project phase to the cutover phase. I deal with the migration of tenants, data and infrastructure and ensure all security postures are in place. I am a 3rd line escalation resource for the team. A few of the key Technical Team Lead areas I focus on are below: Monthly Individual Meetings:
o KPI reporting o Focus areas and action points for the coming month
o Issues/suggestions discussion for the individual, the team, and the business
o Product ownership review o Training plan review and update Team Member Onboarding:
o Ensuring equipment is procured, set up and delivered on time. o Working with sales for stock, quoting and ordering, and management for purchase approvals
o Ensuring licensing is procured and accounts are set up on time
o Day 1 welcome meetings are scheduled
o Day 1 training and shadowing
o Day to day platform training
o Situation based training and testing Mentorship:
o Enabling swift and effective communication within the business is a key part of the TLL role. Ensure the usage of the vast experience and skillsets throughout the business is used effectively as and when needed, bringing in the right people, at the right time. Performance Management:
o Hours entered into the system are crucial not only for customer billing but also for cost reporting and analysis.
o The accuracy of all fields is crucial for customer reporting, and for internal trend reporting and analysis. o Task and ticket management is completed for customer access, workflow management, and escalation management Career development:
o Discuss and formulate a career development path with each team member.
