Oct. 2009 - Dec. 2011In this role, I was responsible for the full spectrum of conference services, offered by this acclaimed 5-star hotel to local and international visitors and organisations. I used creative event proposals and menu presentations to promote the hotel as an attractive venue and functions space, always with the aim of realising the maximum revenue and profit potential whilst satisfying client needs and expectations. Other successful means of realising revenue potential included an effective booking strategy, up-selling, good communication, reports and follow-ups with the different departments regarding key issues such as resumes and banquet checks. I worked closely with managers to ensure the smooth execution of banquet events, as well as the satisfaction of clients. At the same time, I held daily meetings with staff and clients regarding conference services and maintained a harmonious and professional relationship with co-workers and the planning committee. The job required timely and impromptu decision making and giving consideration to the needs of clients and the financial, safety and staffing goals of the hotel. It also required appropriate knowledge of hotel facilities, capacities, meeting space dimensions and the basic operational needs of all the operating departments, as well as compliance with the rules and standards of conduct for a Four Seasons category hotel and carefully managed projects to ensure continuous development and improvement of all departmental working procedures and the flow of communication.

I productively engaged with clients; finalized bookings and maximized revenue potential through up-selling in all revenue-producing areas; cooperated with various departments to ensure service quality and guest satisfaction; supervised banquets; participated in various meeting and achieved all annual personal sales booking goals. To deliver the best possible service to the hotel and my clients, I kept fully up to date on all banquet space, facilities and capabilities available on the competitive market and reviewed all orders for banquets, as well as daily and weekly banquet sheets to ensure accuracy of content. At the same time, I provided input on the marketing plan and budget and assisted in developing and executing projects for assigned market areas to increase catering activity, volumes and profit.

Jul. 2011 - Mar. 2022I am responsible for the promotion and presentation of the services and facilities of the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), which is located in the Qatar Foundation’s campus in Doha. The large campus in the heart of the city hosts faculties from world-renowned universities such as Weill Cornell, Texas A&M, and Georgetown, as well as home-grown centers such as the Sidra Medical and Research Center and the Qatar Science and Technology Park and leads the country’s human, social, and economic development. I market and promote the QNCC’s services, as well as facilities designed for large international events such as trade shows, conferences and industry functions. A vital part of my role comprises the building and maintenance of relationships with potential clients of the Centre and fostering strategic partnerships with corporate clients. I handle client quotations, general proposals and bid documents and ensure that proposals and bids are turned into confirmed business. At present, I manage more than 1500 active and non-active corporate accounts, as well as major exhibitions in the Qatari market. I recently managed a Motor Show, Jewellery Show and Project Qatar – each exceeding QAR 5 million in revenue, and I contributed to the United Nation’s COP 18 Conference in 2012.
