Dec. 2004 - Mar. 2015In the last 5 years, I´ve been performing in different areas of Fire Protection Science, such as fire risk analysis and assesment, sprinkler systems design based on NFPA 13, foam-water sprinkler systems according to NFPA 16, water-spray fixed system based on NFPA 15, stationary fire pump assemblies for fire protection (NFPA 20), fire detection and notification systems (NFPA 72). As a Project Engineer I have been performing the following main duties and responsibilities: - Performing of fire risk assessment and evaluation for both existing and new facilities, - Definition of project goals and its scope according to the owner’s needs and insurer company specifications, - Collect and analyze information about manufacturing processes, merchandise and goods storage, combustible and flammable liquids storage, in order to choose the most convenient fire protection system, - Developing of the most expected fire scenario in order to establish an acceptable damage limit due to fire spread, - Select the most severe scenario with the purpose to determine fire pump size in terms of flow rate, - Preparation of the different documents (risk analysis, graphs, etc) that outline the fire protection criteria as a result of an initial fire risk assessment, - Constant communication with customers, clients and building owners in order to give and receive feedback on all issues related with the development of a particular project, allowing to make changes when necessary,
