As kglobal’s first Chief Creative Officer in 2010, he is back for his second tour of duty. He calls upon 20+ years of strategy and design work in political campaigns, issue advocacy and corporate branding to lead the creative and marketing studio. Working closely with the team, Tom ensures that clients articulate a compelling brand story and craft an effective marketing strategy integrated across all communications channels, including social media, public relations, digital marketing and traditional advertising. Tom has worked in corporate America, for a non-profit, multiple agencies and even spent 12+ years as a Partner/Creative Director of a small, spunky D.C. based creative agency called Project BIG fish. Prior to returning to kglobal, where he was instrumental in building the creative practice, Tom spent eight years as an executive director of brand and marketing for Streetsense, an experience-focused strategy and design collective that creates brands people love and places people love to be. His strongest traits are in thinking quick on his feet, getting the best out of his team and uncovering creative angles for just about any campaign in both traditional and new media. His work has been recognized with numerous awards including Communicator Awards for Brand Development with Gede Foundation and U.S. Product Launch for Gardein, a PR News Social Media Award for HK Anderson Pretzels and Logitech’s CES Activation, a Social Media Week Headliner for the Georgian Dream – Country of Georgia Parliamentary Elections and an ICSC Maxi Award and MarCom Award for National Harbor’s Capital Wheel.

Apr. 1998 - Sep. 2010As senior creative counselor, I have had the opportunity to utilize my advertising, marketing and design experience to all of the creative aspects of a communication campaigns. I manage our clients and staff of designers and developers to oversee seamless results across all media, including online and print advertising, direct mail, web development and TV and radio production. I stay very much involved from a strategic and design perspective from beginning to end, playing an instrumental role in the creative direction. I work with clients throughout the process to determine and fine tune what their needs are, how we can best address those need and see that their online and offline communications make sense and stay true to the campaign’s goals. I am a hands-on director with very extensive and diverse background in print and web design, social media as well as photography and video production. I love the challenge of a starting with a new client, figuring out what makes them unique and how we can creatively tell that story through mixed media. I am a big believer in creating the story first and then going through the design process in terms of bringing it to live visually. I've played an integral part of building Project BIG fish over the past 12+ years from the perspective of bringing in new business, managing client relationships, creating our internal processes and teams. I've also been the driving force behind the creative direction for both client work and our own marketing efforts.
