Work Background
University Lecturer @ Audiovisual Storytelling
University of Arts and Design Linz, Department of Space Design StrategiesUniversity Lecturer @ Audiovisual Storytelling
Sep. 2023Austria, LinzAs a lecturer in the Department of Space Design Strategies at the University of Arts and Design Linz, I taught a course titled "Audiovisual Storytelling." In this role, I explored the intricate relationship between performance art, architecture, and spatial design, guiding students in how to craft compelling narratives through visual and auditory mediums. My approach emphasized the importance of space in storytelling, encouraging students to consider how architectural environments can influence and enhance the narrative experience. Through a combination of theoretical discussions and hands-on projects, I fostered a collaborative learning environment where students experimented with integrating audiovisual elements into their designs. By examining real-world case studies and facilitating creative workshops, I empowered students to develop innovative storytelling techniques that bridge the gap between performance art and architecture. My goal was to equip them with the skills to create immersive experiences that resonate with audiences, ultimately redefining how stories are told within physical spaces.
Researcher @ Open Documentary Lab
Massachusetts Institute of TechnologyResearcher @ Open Documentary Lab
Jul. 2023 - Dec. 2023United StatesAs a Researcher at the Open Documentary Lab, I led the "Our Family Garden" project, focusing on the intersection of personal narratives and collective memory within the context of environmental sustainability. This project aimed to explore how familial and communal relationships with nature can inform our understanding of ecological practices and promote sustainable living. Through interdisciplinary research methods, I investigated various storytelling techniques that highlight the significance of gardens as spaces of growth, connection, and memory. My work involved collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including community members, artists, and environmental experts, to gather insights and experiences that enrich the narrative. Additionally, I utilized innovative audiovisual tools to document these stories, emphasizing the role of technology in enhancing our understanding of ecological relationships. By fostering a participatory approach, "Our Family Garden" encouraged individuals to reflect on their connections to nature and the impact of collective action on environmental stewardship. This project not only contributed to the broader discourse on sustainability but also aimed to create a platform for shared learning and dialogue around the importance of nurturing both our gardens and our communities.

National Geographic Society ExpeditionsTeaching Assistant
Jun. 2015 - Sep. 2024Bosnia and HerzegovinaNational Geographic Photo Camp mentoring young photographers in Sarajevo. The camp participants, aged 14-19, mentored by National Geographic contributing photographer Stephanie Sinclair along with editors and trainers Jeanne Modderman, Ross Goldberg, Jim Webb and Jake Rutherford. I work as a Teaching Assistant for the National Geographic photographers while they have classes, by being responsible for a group of five students (aged 14-19) during the entire workshop. My job includes interpreting the theoretical knowledge that the students receive from the NG Photographers, helping the students to put this knowledge to practice, clarifying, translating and helping the group of students which I am responsible for with anything they need during the entire workshop. The photography workshop provides the students with the skills to become visual storytellers in their own communities. Through practical training, these young people have the opportunity to document and share, through photography, the aspects of their community and country that they value most — from nature and the environment, to humor and spirit, to multi-ethnicity and culture. The workshop culminated with a multimedia presentation of the students’ work at a local exhibition center (Umjetnička galerija BIH)
