National Geographic Society ExpeditionsTeaching Assistant
Jun. 2015 - Sep. 2024Bosnia and HerzegovinaNational Geographic Photo Camp mentoring young photographers in Sarajevo. The camp participants, aged 14-19, mentored by National Geographic contributing photographer Stephanie Sinclair along with editors and trainers Jeanne Modderman, Ross Goldberg, Jim Webb and Jake Rutherford. I work as a Teaching Assistant for the National Geographic photographers while they have classes, by being responsible for a group of five students (aged 14-19) during the entire workshop. My job includes interpreting the theoretical knowledge that the students receive from the NG Photographers, helping the students to put this knowledge to practice, clarifying, translating and helping the group of students which I am responsible for with anything they need during the entire workshop. The photography workshop provides the students with the skills to become visual storytellers in their own communities. Through practical training, these young people have the opportunity to document and share, through photography, the aspects of their community and country that they value most — from nature and the environment, to humor and spirit, to multi-ethnicity and culture. The workshop culminated with a multimedia presentation of the students’ work at a local exhibition center (Umjetnička galerija BIH)
