Born in Barcelona, Mitto was more than just a bank account—it was a personal eco-companion that provided a card facilitating sustainable and ethical shopping. Our mission was to inspire and educate consumers about sustainable spending. We believed that every purchase made by a consumer was a pledge of support for the production methods behind it. Our card fostered a sense of accountability, urging people to reflect on their contribution to potentially unethical and unsustainable practices and supply chains. Mitto's product was designed to engage customers in creating positive social impacts. By continuously reminding users of the significance of their individual impacts, our card acted as a critical tool for driving meaningful change. After identifying common challenges in sustainable spending, such as lack of alternatives, high prices, and lack of awareness, Mitto offered solutions: Our app presented users with a myriad of sustainable alternatives. We issued rewards for sustainable and ethical spending, reinforcing positive behavior. We educated users on the CO2 impact of each purchase, providing valuable insights into their personal contributions to climate change. As we continued to grow and evolve until getting 200K users on the platform we rapidly gained popularity among the younger generation, the change-makers of tomorrow. Our purpose wasn't just to sell a product—it was to change the way we thought about and interacted with our money. Regrettably, due to the economic impacts of the global pandemic, we were unable to secure the necessary funding to sustain our operations. Despite the challenges, we remained committed to our mission until the very end.
