Jan. 2023Seattle, Washington, United StatesMy work with Swedish involves responding to hospital and community
emergencies, monitoring my team of about 30 people’s emergency responses &
alarm monitoring capabilities. I assist my PBX/emergency operators with more
challenging calls (disgruntled callers) through our mainline by using deescalation techniques, and with
emergency codes for the hospitals when trouble
arises, or a question needs to be answered on the spot. I offer this support to my
team while providing coaching and support by using compassionate
approaches that involve active listening, and with the curiosity to better
understand the entire situation. I am responsible for employee reviews and feel
confident in my ability to do so in a manner that promotes my team’s growth
together and individually. I also audit our hospital campuses, our emergency
response protocols, and ensure that our office has the most up to date
information and necessary tools (radios, PCs, phones, etc.) by making the
necessary suggestions during meetings with our administration, safety and
security teams. I work as a sort of liaison between IT and our command base,
often assisting with technical projects that I feel confident assisting with. I have
been able to effectively collaborate & assist in identifying and subsequently
correcting hardware and software errors. I oversee our operational plan to
ensure adequate staffing resources and I’m on-call to be available to my staff
should they need assistance at any time. I contribute to training new and current
staff members in an engaging manner that strives to teach the way that the
employee prefers to learn and have been successful in my attempts.

Career BreakFull-time parenting
Aug. 2018 - Jul. 2022Seattle, WashingtonDuring this time I was fortunate to be able to school my children from home as they both have special needs and required certain accomodations. At this time, I learned much about the homeschooling process in Wasington State, the procedures and testing required by the schools themselves, FAPE, and eventually lobbied for a bill that became a law that requires all schools in Washington State to screen for dyslexia in kindergarten. I'm proud of the time I spent educationing my children to ensure their academic success, and I'm proud of lobbying for a bill to make a difference at large for our state and the children residing therein.
Triex Technologies, Inc.Office Administrator & International Liaison
Jul. 2016 - Jul. 2018Snoqualmie, Washington, United StatesWhile managing the office for Triex Technologies (since closed), a contractor for
Microsoft, I helped to maintain an engaging and supportive environment in
which we could develop the testing equipment for the Surface & Surface Pro
projected capacitive touch screens. This involved maintaining the office itself,
managing employees, purchasing and contracts, billing, and being the liaison
between Chinese companies and our company to deliver an exceptional
quality mechanism to Microsoft (one of the first of its kind). We did remarkably
well as a team and I’m tremendously proud of the work I personally did in
working across timezones with Chinese manufacturers, building bridges and
leads with other contractors, and ultimately delivering the product to Microsoft
on schedule. I believe very strongly that my work in the financial industry boosted
my ability to work well with others outside of the US, and that my work with Triex
Technologies grew that skill base.
