Aug. 2013 - Dec. 2018Berkeley, CADesigned and executed three independent research projects to address complex Earth science queries, resulting in dissertation chapters and completion of PhD requirements. Authored/co-authored four publications (3 of 4 in addition to dissertation chapters) via collaboration with senior-level scientists from top universities and national laboratories. Communicated research findings via oral and poster presentations at international conferences in San Francisco, Paris, Pittsburgh, etc. FEATURED PROJECTS: • Elucidating thermodynamics of natural carbonate minerals: Analyzed/processed image data collected with electron microprobe via statistical methods and computations on structured datasets in Matlab to infer thermodynamic properties of carbonates. • Determining global distribution and implications of inorganic marine carbonate: Imported, cleaned, and utilized data from global database in computational model to determine role of inorganic marine carbonate in global carbon cycle.
