National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)Web Development Manager / User Experience
Apr. 2016 - Jun. 2022Gilbert, ArizonaResponsible for all aspects of mobile and desktop development, including integrating and troubleshooting existing code, integrating new functionality and managing all content development for NASM.org, AFAA.com, Premierglobal.co.uk, Clubconnect.com, Activeiq.co.uk and all associated web properties. The above mentioned sites are built on Sitefinity instances managed by the corporate technology teams. My team’s focus is to deliver cutting edge interactive and fully responsive content within the constrains of a relatively locked-down CMS. With the help of Ensighten and control of the base templates in the CMS, I’ve been able to introduce greatly increased flexibility to what the content teams can deliver in what is mostly a very restrictive development environment. Through the use of custom Javascript (vanilla, and let’s face it: lots of jQuery), site-wide JSON-driven promotional pricing (usually uneditable at the CMS level), full integration with Hubspot (including custom form integration, landing pages and custom blog templates), custom proxy servers written in PHP, fully customizable dynamic tag elements (written for ease of use for content editors - not coders- like product tours, progress bars, ‘frequently bought together’ blocks, etc) that are fully integrated with the automated JSON promo system, sales banners, time-based and expiring content, dynamic cart popups…the list goes on and on.
