SVP of Sales

We have been retained to conduct an executive search for a new General Manager/ Senior Vice President of Sales. The position can be located anywhere in the United States. The parent company is HQ in the St. Louis area. The team is spread out and working remotely. The company is doing about $50M/year with a very strong EBITA, they created a new line of business that will be doing ~$2M this year. The company recently signed Goldman Sachs to represent them for their next capital raise. A big portion will be used to accelerate the growth of this new line of business. The plan is to hire a GM to grow this line of business to $15m, then spin it out into its own entity with the GM becoming the President. You will be responsible for the P&L and fully in charge of growing and managing this new line of business. You will be responsible for sales, partnerships, marketing, demand gen, client outreach, etc. Need someone very strong on strategy and execution to create and execute the game plan, hire the right people, and scale the business. We need better conversion rates from leads. We need to shorten the sales cycles. Within the first 90 days, we need to have a very robust plan on how to do this that makes sense to the board….and one crazy outside the box idea that could help us generate revenues from new markets! This is a huge market opportunity! Colleges are looking for opportunities to expand their mark. There is a huge demand since schools are looking for new revenue opportunities. We need someone who has previously closed deals with deans and provosts of universities and colleges. The business case is transparent. Here is a program that will draw a lot of eyeballs from students and here is your opportunity to get in on the ground floor. There is an unmet business need. It is a perfect marriage alignment. What school doesn't need revenue right now??? And students need this program. There is a HUGE business case here. This is a mission-based company. We are giving students a chance. We are improving access and equality for many students who are minorities and/or come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. When other schools say "NO you can’t be a doctor", then we give them the opportunity. Our client is the largest supplier of multi-lingual doctors. They teach better and usually go back to their communities to practice and make a big impact. They give disadvantaged students a chance to get a doctoral degree. When you take a student whose parents might only make 40k a year and give them the chance to become a doctor, then they usually are the ones that go and help solve healthcare issues. Our client is in the forefront of solving that problem! This should be all over the news and social media. Need someone who is passionate about this mission and excited to blast about it from all angles.
