Colum Lavery is the World Rugby Head of Governance leading a team responsible for all governance, corporate secretarial and membership matters. World Rugby consists of 128 member unions and six Regional Associations.
Prior to joining World Rugby, Colum was the Assistant Vice-President of the Company Secretarial department with Citi Hedge Fund Services (Ireland) leading a department with responsibility for the maintenance of in excess of 400 Cayman, Bermuda and US registered entities.
Colum was elected President of Softball Ireland, the National Governing Body of Softball in Ireland, in November 2012 and is responsible for providing strategic direction to continue the growth of softball in Ireland. Colum also serves on the World Baseball Softball Confederation Tournament Commission and as joint Chair of the European Softball Federation Legal Commission.
Colum graduated from Dublin City University (BBS) and is a qualified Company Secretary from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, he also holds a Professional Diploma in Sports Law and Diploma in Event management.More...
