Karan is a certified RYT500 yoga teacher and personal trainer offering private, group and corporate yoga sessions.
Her teaching and training style is alignment, breath, and function-driven, with the intention of helping her students get stronger while letting go of stress and tension. She is a self-proclaimed “body detective” and enjoys exploring where your aches and pains may stem from before creating a regime to alleviate those burdens. She believe that awareness is the first and, perhaps, most important step in the process, and that her students understand exactly what they are doing and why. She aims to bring you to a place of BALANCE in your body, believing that this shift will ultimately bring you to a place of balance in all aspects of your life.
Karan became an AFAA/NASM certified personal trainer in 1999 and began her yoga journey shortly after. She has trained with many renowned teachers including Doug Swenson (Ashtanga), Sianna Sherman and Desiree Rumbaugh (Anusara), Ana Forrest (Forrest Yoga) and Judith Lasater (Restorative Yoga). She completed her 500 hour yoga training with Dana Baptiste and received an additional 200 hours in yoga therapy.
When not teaching or doing yoga, Karan loves swimming, whitewater kayaking, riding her bike, skiing, hiking, and spending time with her dog, Finn.More...
