Kaz is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Brisbane Roar FC, Director at McDonald Patafta & Associates Lawyers and a Board Member of the Australian Professional Leagues (APL).
He has extensive experience in commercial, energy, and infrastructure projects, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, capital market transactions, and corporate law.
Throughout his career, Kaz has demonstrated a deep understanding of international business and cross-border transactions, having spent several years in Asia, particularly in Singapore. His unique background includes serving as an adviser to the Government of Lao PDR and representing numerous international and domestic clients across diverse industries.
Notable was his role as an advisor to a Chinese State-Owned Enterprise on a joint venture with the Government of Lao PDR. Additionally, he was lead counsel to the Ministry of Finance Lao PDR on a sovereign financing facility and played a pivotal role in advising a developer during the construction phase of a significant 650 MW hydropower project in Lao PDR.
Before joining Brisbane Roar FC, Kaz successfully led McDonald Patafta & Associates Lawyers and gained invaluable experience as an in-house legal expert for a multinational independent power producer in Asia. Moreover, Kaz's diverse background extends beyond the legal field, as he held the position of Chief Executive Officer of a professional football club in Asia and pursued a successful career as a professional footballer, playing for the Socceroos, Benfica in Portugal and in the A-League.
