Dr. Boyer, Professor of Business and Behavioral and Social Sciences is in his 23rd year with Wayland Baptist University (WBU). He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska graduating with honors and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Maine where he served on the Law Review and graduated in the top 10% of his class. For the next twenty years he practiced law in New Hampshire where he distinguished himself as an attorney, state representative, senator, and a civic leader being included in Best Lawyers in America, and Who’s Who in American Law, listed as one of the decade’s significant leaders in New Hampshire Notables (1986), awarded the NH Democratic Party’s Distinguished Service Award (1985) and Outstanding Leadership Award for Leadership as State Senator (1987), designated a New Hampshire Bar Foundation Fellow, and admitted to the state bars of New Hampshire and Florida as well as the United States Supreme Court. As a civic leader, Dr. Boyer was President of the Nashua Boys Club receiving the Nashua Boys Club’s Man of the Year award, member of the Board of Directors of Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Daniel Webster College. After twenty years of a successful career as an attorney Dr. Boyer left the courtroom for academia; moving back west with his wife Kathy (a WBU alum) to California, where he grew up. There he served as dean of a law school, dean of education and paralegal studies for a private two-year college and president of a small university. In 2001 Dr. Boyer joined WBU moving from California to Arizona beginning as an adjunct professor for Wayland's Sierra Vista Campus. In 2003 he became that campus’ assistant dean and full-time assistant professor. Also, in 2003 Dr. Boyer was appointed Bisbee, Arizona’s last municipal judge, for next three years (2003 – 2006).
