I am currently a PhD student at the University of the West Indies, Mona, in the field of Organic Synthesis. My research involves the synthesis of natural products, catalysis and methodological development for the efficient synthesis of aromatic heteroatom compounds. In addition to my research, I serve as a research assistant (chemistry) at the UWI and also as a chemistry teacher at the secondary level.
I have also served as a Resident Advisor to the university's Office of Student Services and Development. This has equipped me with the experience to plan, co-ordinate and execute events and initiatives, both independently as well as on a team.
These experiences have not only solidified my prowess as a chemist but also have given me exposure in the project management process.More...
