Dr. Baharudin Kadir obtained his BS (Geology Major & Business Minor) from the University of Minnesota, USA (1985), MBA (Marketing) from the Cleveland State University, USA (1987) and a PhD in Marketing from the School of Management, University of Bradford, UK (1997).
Prior to doing his PhD, Dr. Baharudin worked for seven years in the areas of marketing and business development at several companies in Malaysia, including, Esso/Exxon Malaysia Berhad, PETRONAS Dagangan and IBM Malaysia. His last position at IBM Malaysia before pursuing his doctoral degree in 1993 was as a Sales Representative for IBM’s Exxon International Account.
Dr. Baharudin’s doctoral thesis is in the area of Innovative Marketing Practices. His post-doctoral experiences involved consulting engagements for TESCO Malaysia and several government agencies in the area of Policy Research – these include studies commissioned by the Economic Planning Unit of the Prime Minister Department on Sabah Agro-Industrial Precinct (2005-2006) and the Ministry of Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs on Bumiputra Participation in Retail Trade in Malaysia (2003).
Dr. Baharudin Kadir has had stints as a General Manager responsible for export markets at Dewina Berhad and as Head of New Business Development at PROTON Berhad’s International Business Division.More...
