I am a seasoned economist with over two decades of experience shaping energy and mineral policies across global markets, including sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, and the Commonwealth. I am currently a Senior Policy Advisor at the International Institute for Sustainable Development, where I lead research at the Global Mining Tax Initiative, and influence international mining and taxation decisions. As Director and Economist at Bargate Advisory Ltd, I have gained and used my experience and expertise in macroeconomic analyses, market entry strategies, and feasibility studies for energy and mining projects in Africa.
I have held other pivotal roles, including Lead Economic Adviser at The Commonwealth Secretariat, where I reformed energy and mining regulatory frameworks, and Managing Director at Eraskon Nigeria Limited, where I secured $10M in funding for a lubricating oil blending plant.
My expertise spans economic modelling, regulatory impact assessments, and strategic planning. I have a proven track record in delivering high-impact projects, fostering partnerships, and advising governments and organisations on energy and mining policy, regulation, and economics.
I hold a PhD in Petroleum Policy and Economics from the University of Dundee, an MSc in Energy Studies, an MBA, and a BSc in Economics and Statistics. I have, over the years, been able to combine academic rigour with practical leadership to navigate complex market dynamics and drive transformative outcomes.More...
