Andrew has amassed over 24 years of IT and Security knowledge throughout his career. He started out as a U.S. Navy cryptologic technician supporting surface, air, and space intelligence operations. After leaving the military, Andrew worked for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s compliance and assessment team, supporting nearly every three and four-letter agency in the Washington D.C., Virginia, and Maryland areas. Eventually, he left the government sector to pursue penetration testing as his full-time occupation in the private sector, where he spent the last 10 years of his career. Specializing in manual tactics, Andrew has performed red teaming and penetration testing for IT and OT/SCADA networks (internal, external, and wireless), web, mobile, and API applications, IoT products, embedded systems, reverse engineering, various cloud environments, social engineering (electronic and physical break-ins), and car hacking. While at Rapid7, he was instrumental in the establishment of the IoT Center of Excellence and multiple marketing-driven articles.
