A Marketing-Minded Creative Leader
I would like to use my broad experience and brand acumen to support, advance, and implement new strategies for the benefit of many.
I’m a former professional athlete and am currently a creative marketing executive with vice president, chief marketing officer, global general manager, and chief executive officer
experience across three decades of leadership in the youth culture, sports, and outdoor industries.
I have had a career leading, building, resuscitating, accelerating, and creating brands in the bicycle, eyewear, apparel, accessories, footwear, watch, nutrition, brewery, spirits, and skateboard categories. I have overseen large athlete rosters and managed the sports marketing between events, media, and leagues to leverage and bolster these athletes and brands. I have
conceived and produced award-winning marketing campaigns, ground-breaking events, product innovations, and award-winning films. In various marketing and leadership roles with some of the
most iconic brands in the world, I have overseen both strategic direction and marketing execution while empowering regional teams to craft and implement local sales and marketing strategies to deliver locally on global initiatives.
I’m a marketer with a penchant for creative solutions in advertising, content creation, product development, digital and experiential marketing. For the last fifteen years I have worked with non profits and social ventures to create changemakers. I’m passionate about revealing to young people the power they have to build the lives they want, the society we need, and the future we deserve. I am a first generation Sri Lankan Muslim American and my confidence in our ability to integrate coupled with my awareness of the challenges of doing so has moved me to take consistent action in giving our people the tools to help each other.
As a program manager and facilitator with My Name My Story (MNMS) I traveled extensively across the United States, cultivating the skills of social entrepreneurship and human centered design thinking in thousands of students, from all walks of life. I channeled this energy into program management, activity development, and human empowerment.
I next took the position of Student Success Manager at Skillify, a start-up that helped teenagers approach the future with an understanding of their interests and the work they want to do in the world. After my time at Skillify, I worked in Programs and Operations for the Women’s Mosque of America, the first all female worship space for Muslims in America. There I learned the value of representation and grit- how to mobilize a community with grace and intention.
The Women’s Mosque taught me the importance of operational logistics, but it also brought me home to spirituality and the depth that adds to our communities. I then explored religion in society at the Office of Religious Life at the University of Southern California, which led me to chaplaincy. I trained as an Assistant Chaplain at Cook County jail on the south side of Chicago where I learned about the systemic impacts of violence and the true nature of growing up in poverty, and later worked as an Assistant Chaplain at DePaul University, a private university in Chicago with students who cared deeply about helping the city they lived in.
The juxtaposition of the community I met at Cook County and the young adults at a private UniversitMore...

My passion is building kick-ass companies that are IP focused and leverage state-of-the art data science, machine learning, and data engineering.
In many TV shows and movies, the heroes are supported by a tech team that can build game-changing inventions on demand to solve whatever predicament they find themselves in. Think Tony Stark for the Avengers, Shuri for Black Panther, Fitz and Simmons for Agents of Shield, MacGyver, or Data in Goonies. My teams do the same thing.
I build and lead innovative tech teams to support the executive, product, and sales heroes in an organization. The solutions and products we invent bring immense value to the companies we work with.
Over the the course of my career I’ve built cutting-edge products and solutions in multiple domains including eCommerce, digital ad tech, insurance, biotech, healthcare, investment and finance, legal services, and real estate. I’m a serial inventor. I have patents and pending patents in many of these industries.
As a data scientist, I'm a generalist: my experience includes custom intellectual property development (I've invented a number of custom proprietary machine learning algorithms), AI / machine learning, business analytics, data collection, data engineering and architecture, software development, study design, data preparation, experimental design, algorithm and model development, reporting, and data visualization. I’m an ecologist and evolutionary biologist by training: I have a passion for bio-inspired algorithms and processes.
