I'm a social worker - a passionate advocate for social change through empowering others.
Past proud projects that I have collaborated on include:
• Making a historic church building wheelchair accessible
• Establishment of a Veteran and Military Support Services unit at a college and “Green Zone” training
(veteran support)
• Organization of a “Driving While Black” forum with law enforcement representatives
• Establishment of the “Safe Zone” (LGBTQ support) program at a college
• Advocating for comprehensive, science-based sexuality education curriculums in local public schools
I love helping, supporting and mentoring others. Meeting new people and growing rapport with folks with very different backgrounds and expertise from my own always fills my bucket.
My leadership experience has included a tenure as the Executive Director of a trauma-informed nonprofit organization, service on multiple nonprofit boards, and directorship of the disability access office in a university, a regional access to justice training initiative. I have secured over $400K in local and state grant funding across these organizations.
I’m also skilled with outreach, strategic planning, assessment and project management. Public speaking and training are a joy, and I aim to inspire listeners to get “fired up” to enact meaningful action in their communities.More...
