Tarryn Crossman: I am a multi-award-winning investigative journalist and documentary producer based in South Africa. I have won awards locally and abroad for my independent feature films and short documentaries, which have been screened at film festivals worldwide.
I was the senior producer at MTV Viacom Africa for five years, producing content all over Africa, before deciding to follow my passion for documentary filmmaking. 2011, I attended a documentary master’s program at The New York Film Academy. On my return to SA, I opened TIA Productions to produce my first documentary feature film, Fatherland. I went on to create my second independent feature, Timelines, and a collection of shorts, which have all screened at festivals around the world and seen successful sales in both Europe and America.
As the executive producer at TIA Productions, I have worked with global clients, including Meta, Al Jazeera, USAID, UNICEF, Carte Blanche, Save the Children, ONE campaign, MTV Staying Alive, and many more. I am passionate about telling stories and using this medium for global change.
Noteworthy Journalism awards would be runner-up in the Taco Kuiper awards 2020 and best regional investigative journalist for the Vodacom Journalism of Year awards 2023.
