I was a registered architect in South Africa, and ran my own practice in the Zululand region for 16 years, before emigrating to New Zealand. Being mostly government projects employing emerging previously-disadvantaged people, my biggest challenges and successes were getting the whole team (mostly black African contractors) to work together with the (mostly white Afrikaans) consultants. All of approx 30 projects were completed within time and budget parameters.
I was also involved with numerous condition and suitability surveys at many country clinics and regional hospitals.
One last stand-out was Multi-year masterplans which I produced for three large hospitals, received with acclaim from the Regional Dept of Health.More...
