I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Journalism as a Cum Laude graduate of California State University Long Beach. I have 10+ years experience in the hospitality industry. I worked at several high end restaurants throughout my academic career to fund my education. At the tail end of my college career, I completed an internship for a media company local to Long Beach called CityHeART. At this internship, I was responsible for producing broadcast radio shows, generating and authoring weekly story ideas for the company’s magazine, conducting research and interviews to create compelling stories, and covering local events through photography & attendee insights in order to combine writing and visuals for impactful coverage. Following that internship, I was briefly mentored by journalist Linda Marsa. During my mentorship, I also acted as her research assistant in order to lighten her work load. I am now currently working as a part-time medical assistant for RN Trista Shakeridge at her company Aesthetic Beauty. My main responsibility is patient charting. This means I record detailed notes on client goals, recommended treatments, product application, and unit counts.
