Over the course of my adult life, I have had varied professional experiences. I was in Restaurant Management for 15 years at the same establishment. During most of that time, I also taught High School Science at Stephen Decatur High School, in Berlin for ten years. My classroom was comprised of students considered high risk, at risk, and most needing accommodations both in and outside of the classroom. While teaching, I also coached cheerleading and served on various committees focused on student and workplace morale, as well as positive behavior intervention.
After teaching, I went into Real Estate, working as a licensed assistant for one of the most successful local Realtors ® in this area. My areas of focus were contracts and listings, financials, accounts payable and receivable and heavy on the customer relations.
In my most recent venture, I was offered the opportunity to take my passion for charitable/non-profit organizations and devote my efforts to Atlantic General Hospital. This is a small, community-owned, not-for-profit rural hospital made possible by the blood, sweat and tears of some very committed local residents. Each day, I aim to find funding for the hospital through grants, local, state and national funding and private donors. I assist with the three major events that the AGH Foundation puts on each year and get to work with an absolutely fabulous team to help make and keep high quality, compassionate care convenient and close to home.More...
